The US-friendly Winning Poker Network (WPN) was awarded a Guinness World Record for paying the winner of the $5M guaranteed Venom tournament in Bitcoin.
Rafael “TheBigKid” Moraes came out on top in the massive, multi-day event that attracted 2,553 entrants who each bought in for $2,500 + $150. The first place prize was an astounding $1,050,559.50 and Moraes received his winnings via the cryptocurrency Bitcoin just minutes after emerging as the champion.
Our $5 Million Venom was a success in more ways than one. We set the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title for the largest cryptocurrency winning jackpot in an online poker tournament with a $1,050,560 Bitcoin payout. @WPN_CEO #venom #venomtournament pic.twitter.com/1E2I3WjCgE

Representatives from Guinness World Records were on hand to witness the payout, resulting in WPN and its flagship poker sites of Black Chip Poker and Americas Cardroom making the record books for
the largest cryptocurrency winning jackpot in an online poker tournament, stated a press release from WPN.
Our $5 Million Venom, said WPN spokesperson Michael Harris,
wasn’t just an online poker tournament, it was history in the making.
While WPN took home that official record, the Venom also set an unofficial record within the online poker industry. The $6,382,500 prize pool was the largest ever by a poker room that caters to US customers.
The huge prize pool was made possible by players being able to choose from three Day 1s to enter, as well as the option to enter as many times as they’d like. Topping that off was a feature called the Biggest Stack Option that allowed players to move forward to Day 2 with the largest chip stack still in front of them after the conclusion of Days 1A, 1B and 1C.
WPN and its top skins have permitted Bitcoin deposits and withdrawals since 2015, with only 2% of its customers going the crypto route for payment processing at first. Four years later and WPN proudly boasts that crypto is responsible for 60% of the transactions that take place at Black Chip Poker, Americas Cardroom, and the less-popular WPN skin, True Poker.
Also, Bitcoin is no longer the only cryptocurrency accepted at the network. WPN now processes payments in more than 60 cryptocurrencies – by far the most of any online poker room or network.
While WPN is breaking new ground in the realm of cryptocurrencies and poker records, it’s also leading the way in the area of social interaction technology. A new Railbird feature has been introduced at Americas Cardroom that allows ACR players to share a link with their friends that takes them to the poker table – either cash game or tournament – at which the Americas Cardroom player is seated and playing.
Friends and relatives can rail you while you play, grabbing a front row seat for your final table or exciting cash game. Check out the short YouTube video below that explains how the Railbird feature works.
$6 Million GTD Venom
The Guinness World Record for the crypto payout and the record for the largest tournament by a US-facing site may not last long. WPN has already announced a $6 million guaranteed Venom that kicks off with Day 1A on November 27.
Four Day 1s will allow for even more entrants and four months of satellites and step tournaments leading up to the next Venom event will permit tons of players to win a Venom seat inexpensively. One of those players could be you at either Black Chip Poker or Americas Cardroom, each of which give new depositors a generous Welcome Bonus of 100% up to $1,000.
That bonus is 200% up to $1,000 if your deposit is made in a cryptocurrency. There’s likely a limited time on the crypto deposit bonus – so hurry!
